The Beauty of 3D Nail Art

Visiting Vancouver nails salon weekly is a routine for me. I like to keep my nails clean and well cared for. That includes having great color and crafted with the very fashionable Vancouver Japanese nail art.

I visit different nail salons here in my place to see which has the best service. I am quite meticulous in regards to how they deliver and most especially the quality of the service. Because I consider myself as a very fashionable person and I would like to keep up with the trend, I can say that keeping a lifestyle like this needs careful investigation. Although I am not that fussy about perfect detail, I just like to make sure that I feel and look good.

The Beauty of 3D Nail Art-3Nowadays, I am fond of Vancouver 3D nails. I like how it looks because they are pretty and they give much personality. It's like they have their own statement of who I am so they need to keep up with my expectations.

The Beauty of 3D Nail Art-2These designs are like a window to my being. I like to dress up differently almost everyday according to the needs of parties or events, latest fashion trends and mood. These designs enable me to emphasize what look I am trying to portray. Like when I am in the mood to wear gothic clothes then a design with skulls or black flame would be appropriate. The same goes when a get-together needs me to wear a particular costume or get-up then I have to match the needs of that outfit with my nails. So, I visit different Vancouver nail salon in search for the best designs that show my personality.

The Beauty of 3D Nail Art-1Compared to color nail polish and regular Vancouver manicure and pedicure, the creativity of this art is just special. There is limitation to the conventional nail polish. Although it can be mixed with other colors making artistic drawings or art designs on the nail, Vancouver 3D nails emphasize the beauty of fine art and serve as an extension of my imagination. And being a 3-dimensional design, the materials used protrude from the nail; they pop out, unlike the usual color nail polish.

The things utilized in designing the nails are small 3D objects made from sculpture powder that has been molded to the desired figure. Also, some of the bits used are 3D stickers like the ones found in scrapbooks although these are customized to fit the nail. Small gems and crystals are also used to add that luxurious look. After being airbrushed with paint, the acrylic nail chips become the slate wherein these objects are attached then voila! A fashion statement has been made customized according to my imagination, of course.

I like having them and showing them off to my friends because they make me feel attractive, fashionable, and artistic. So whenever a party comes, after I have done my hair and make-up, I go down to the nearest nail salon to fix up. After getting a Vancouver manicure, I head to the artists that handle the designs and rig up my beautiful nails with fashion motivated art.

My nail project.

Hey guys...Have you entered my giveaway yet?? Please click here to check it out :)

Okay, so I know some of you have been curious about my nail tech courses. I haven't really been posting about it because for a while there, it was mostly theory we were learning. About bacteria and viruses that we have to look out for, how to sanitize, the difference between sterilization (mostly in hospitals) and sanitization (spas), nail anatomy...stuff like that. Boring stuff that doesn't really want to stick in my head.

But recently, we've been doing manicures, pedicures and massages for the hands and feet. FUN! I think that the hardest thing is painting nails. I can do my own nails because I've been doing it for ages and I know the shape of my nails. But other people's? I have to try to fight the shakies. Haha. And we're not supposed to paint so that the polish doesn't touch the cuticles and it's harder than it sounds, but I'm getting better.

So recently I had to hand in a project on nail trends that are current in the nail industry now. I picked: paraffin hand and feet treatments, sculptured nails, airbrush art and, of course, 3d nail art.

So I just wanted to show you some examples of 3d nail art that I submitted. We haven't learned any nail art yet, as I am in the natural nail portion of my classes, but I thought it would be fun to add them in:

These were done with jsut white nail polish, rhinestones and pearlized plastic hearts that I got from a scrapbooking store. They were applied with nail glue.

Then I found this online, so I thought I'd borrow the design and see if I could do more advanced 3d nail art.
Hers are waaaaay more amazing, but I was really proud that I did this, since I haven't really done anything this advanced or intricate. I need to practice more. Alice in Wonderland? Fun! Alice and the bunnies were made with acrylic, the roses were just polymer clay pieces that I'd made with a mold prior to this, and added some going beads.
Okay, so that's that. If you guys have specific questions about what I'm learning in school, just ask. I'm learning so much in such little time, that I don't even know what to tell you about it all!
But I will be going to the IMATS this weekend AND the Spa and Esthetics show. So I'll have pics of the Spa show on here and the IMATS on my makeup blog. Hope you guys have a great night!

black and whites draped in gold

Okay, it's been a while guys! I made these nails since I've taken off my acrylics/gels for a while to let them breathe and strengthen up for all the manicures I'll be getting in my classes at the end of the month. So I did these puppies up so that I could wear them when I feel like jazzing them up...then I can just use nail glue remover to take them off. Or I could use a temporary nail glue I guess if it's just for one night.

They're white nail chips and then I just painted on the black in a diagonal and used gold chain nail stickers on the seal from Sally Beauty Supply then added rhinestones and tiny gold beads with nail glue to look like chains. Just a super quick way for me to be glam, even if it's just for one night!

My nails #2: Nautical nails and a bit of news...

Hi all! Hope everyone's doing well :) I know it's been a while, I've been a bit busy lately but I do have some news. I'm going back to school...for nails! Yes, I'm going to be taking a nail technician course starting March 29th. So I've been a bit busy trying to sort out tuition, applications and then today I went to pay for the first half of my tuition. So I've been a busy bee. It starts pretty soon, so I wanted to make sure that everything was sorted before I could sit and relax...and blog.

I'm so excited, I think it's about time I step back into the working world again. It's been a while. I picked the best school in my area to make sure I do it right. I've heard that many nail salons look for graduates of this particular school so it only made sense.

Anyway, no tutorial again, but I do have a new nail design. I did it in like 15 mins so it was a rush for all the details on there but I felt I HAD to have my nails done since I was meeting one of the directors of the school today. So I didn't have time for pics for a tut. Sorry! And I'm trying to strengthen my natural nails since we'll be doing manicures and all on each other so I took off my fakies and I'm back to my stumpy little nails.

Anyway, here are my nautical themed nails:

So for most of the nails, all I did was paint my nails white and used a navy nail polish with a thin nail art brush to make lines. Then I just decorated them with small gold beads, rhinestones, jump rings (the gold circles are used for jewelry making so you can get them at beading stores or arts and crafts stores) and the "life preservers" are from the donut molds that I got. On the ring finger I just used left it white and painted the anchor on with a thin brush, too. I had 5 people grab my hands today to take a closer look and one was at the drive through while I was getting coffee! Haha, I was handing back the debit thingy and felt a tug. Weird...

Anyway, hope you guys had a great weekend!

My nails #1: Nails did.

Hey guys, I finally did my nails. I broke my 2 thumb nails ages ago and just haven't had the time to fix them until last yesterday.

I wish I could have done a tutorial for you guys, but I was really strapped for time since I had to do them while the kids were napping. Just to show you, I used a lavender coloured acrylic on my nails on the tips faded up to the cuticle and then just layered glittery acrylic over the tips and went over it al with gel. Sorry I didn't have time to remove all the dust from my nails (from shaping them) so they look super yucks. And I got another set of nail molds (still waiting on one more package) so I played around with those.

And went crazy! haha. (Note to crumz: Ash, dude. I LOVE these molds!) People kept grabbing my hands today to look at them...don't like that at all. Not a touch-happy person...especially from people I do not know.

Thanks for reading guys!

Pink and black stripes with roses

Hey guys, just another nail design for you all. I really need some sort of tape to make straight lines! Reminds of being in elementary school and the teacher yelling at you cuz you thought you could get away with underlining titles free hand. What? They looked straight to me! But these...do not.

I used my little nail molds to make the flowers. The big peach flower gor whatever reason doesn't look too shiny in either pic, but it is in person.

I think I'll do a tutorial on this one when I get a minute. Things have been busy lately and I haven't been home long enough to do my actual nails. They're so sad, I broke my thumb nails like a week ago. Both nails were broken while taking my stroller out of my car...2 separate times! It's massive. For the sake of my nails, I need something smaller.

And I just finished blinging up my cell phone. Needed a bit of a change from the hello kitty in swarovski bling design I've been rocking on my phone since last summer. Here's what it looks like now:

You can check out my other blog for more pics. Have a good night guys!

Crazy hello kitty

Hey guys, hope you all are doing well! Just another nail design. I was playing around with acrylic powders to make some 3d shapes. You know that smell that hits you when you walk into a nail salon? Yah, that's acrylic liquid. It's toxic smelling. With kids in the house, I can't keep busting it out so I've been trying this nail liquid from NSI which is odor free and I just use it when the kids are napping upstairs and I can open the door. My hubby has a super sensitive nose when it comes to these kinds of smells and he doesn't notice anything. But it took my forever to get used to it. You really have to play with it and it's no good for 3d nail art (well I can't use it like I can the regular nail monomer, it just makes the powder too runny)...but I tried anyway. Here's my blinged out hello kitty.

My little hello kitty's nose kind of got a bit runny and became a big blob. Haha, well when the summer comes maybe I can practice using the regular stuff outside in the sunshine. Although having played with this odor-free nail liquid, it makes it a lot easier going back to that other stuff.

I really have to work on doing my own nails with 3d art. My left hand is like a wet noodle. I'm useless with it so I'd have all my nail art on my left hand only. Maybe I can make it a new trend...who's with me?

I feel the love...AND my fave nail oil...AND another nail design.

Hey guys, I got some blog love yesterday from 2 special ladies. I must've been a good girl lately...
First from the lovely lady LaaLaa. She was kind enough to make a post about this new little blog of mine (which you can find here) and wrote some lovely things. I love you LaaLaa...even if you had to lie a little ;) lol. She's got a great blog so check her out. Plus she's gorge...And she's a very creative little thing who's getting into the makeup biz, so show her some love when you visit her.

Then on top of that, Ashley from Astrowifey gave me a shout out, too! If you're into nail art, check out her blog. She's into the Japanese nail designs and she's great at nail art, so if you're into all that go check her out already! We've been little chatterboxes lately...it's nice to have someone to gush nails with, no matter how trivial it may be. Well, we think we interesting, don't we Ash?

Thanks again girls!

Now onto one of my favourite products. It has been for a long time now. It's CND's Solar Oil. Here's lame pic of a mini bottle I had laying around. Couldn't find my big bottle for the life of me...

Yah, see. Lame. You can see the writing cuz it's see-thru. But here's the website if you want to see a pic. It is great for natural nails and cuticles, but it's also good for nail enhancements. It keeps your fakies flexible, but still tough. This is the whole reason I started using this oil in the first place. I have always had horribly dry cuticles and I thought I couldn't use nail oil because it would cause lifting on the nail enhancements, but as long as the nails are properly applied you don't get lifting.

I only know of one nail supply store where I live that sells it, but to be fair, I haven't really been searching too hard to find it since this place sells it for cheaper than I've ever paid for it in the past. I remember I couldn't find it for years...then one nail tech I started going to started selling it. And I was so excited I bought 3. Then she couldn't find it anymore and died a little inside. Now I've got a place that sells it on the cheap so I'm happy again.

If you're interested in it, you can check out the CND website to locate a store that might sell it near you. I highly recommend it. Sometimes I get so caught up in the prettiness of my nails that I forget to take care of them...so I always have a little bottle near me at all times.

Okay and another nail design. Sorry I don't do them on my actual nails. I have acrylics on right now and there's no way to do a new set everyday...time consuming and so bad for the nails to have to file them down all the time.

This one is similar in colour to the lv one I did a few days ago. There's something about pink and gold that I really like.

I will do a tutorial for you guys soon. I promise, these ones are all ones that I did a few days ago and I'm posting them one by one for you guys until I can find the time to do a tut.

All I did for these was used a transluscent gold sparkle nail polish on the tips (I didn't make a straight line on purpose) and then went over it with a clear nail polish I had that had thicker gold chunks in it. I got those 2 polishes from daiso ($2 japanese store near where I live). Then I just added in some deco. The gold circles are jump rings that you can get at an arts and craft store...although I just picked mine up from a dollar store. They're used for jewelry making and they come in different sizes. I think I got like 100 jump rings for a buck. The pearls and rhinestones are from Michaels and they came like a sticker with a sticky backing, which I just removed and used nail glue to glue onto the nail. Then I used a UV top coat to seal it all in.

Hope you enjoyed this post guys :)

Fimo fruits and acrylic food.

Hi guys! Thanks to everyone who has followed this blog! Yay! I'm so excited. Tonight I'll take pics of my fave nail oil to show you. I'll post that tomorrow. Everyone needs to have one...but for now, just another another nail art design.

I just used some fimo fruit slices and those acrylic nail mold pieces (biscuit, although it's hard to see the little dots on the biscuit with the lighting and a small donut looking one).

Actually looking at the picture makes me realize that I need to get my lazy but to the store and get some nail tape to make those lines straight! Haha, but I was just playing around, so I'll put more care into if I decide to do this design again.

Feel free to leave me a comment...I laahve comments.

My first post! On here anyway...

Hi! To anyone out there who's reading this...I've finally started a nail blog. I have a makeup blog, but it just didn't feel right posting nail posts on there, but I always seem to do them. So instead of having my makeup blog overrun by nail posts, I thought why not start up another one?

So welcome! This is just a place for me to share some nail products that I like, nail designs, nail polish swatches, but knowing me, most likely nail art...

And here are my first pics:

LV deserves to be surrounded in pearls and gold don't you think? And if you're going to ask me where I got that LV fimo slice, I managed to get one of the only shipment she had and she's sold out and not bringing anymore in :( I know because I tried to buy more and I got denied!

Anyway, I just used a full cover artificial nail that was made in this colour pink, so I didn't use a specific nail polish. Plopped on a fimo slice and painted clear nail polish where I wanted the gold and white beads and sprinkled them on. I got the pearls from Michaels, they were self sticking ones so I just peeled the backing off and glued them on and finished with a high gloss UV coating.
Hope you guys enjoyed my first post!
