Zoya Wicked and Wonderful Collection

Happy Columbus Day! I'm glad to have today off so that I can catch up on some of my school work. I already finished some but I'm currently taking a break. And I'm taking a break by writing an entry for my blog haha

Anyways, before I begin. I want to ask you guys to do me a favor. It will only take a few seconds of your time. There's a poll put on the left sidebar. I would really appreciate it if you guys participate in the poll. It would help me a lot. Because if you guys like my pictures under artificial light, it will speed up my postings; since I don't have to wait for sunlight to do swatches. But I don't want to do that in case my readers do not like pictures of swatches under artificial light. Therefore this poll is very important to me. I want to satisfy my readers. Thanks :)

Now today I have for you guys Zoya's Wicked and Wonderful collection for the Fall 2010. I'm glad to finally get to swatched these because these are gorgeous. All 12 of them! Especially the Wicked collection. Again, while everyone is posting their Fire & Ice Collection I'm behind and posting the Wicked and Wonderful collection. I do have the Fire & Ice collection and hopefully I will be swatching those real soon. I finally caught sunlight therefore all pictures are taken under direct sunlight.

Zoya Wicked Collection consists of 6 gorgeous sparkles

Kym - a bronzy red sparkle

Carrie Ann - wow this is a very bright red sparkle. Very sparkly! I love it

Karina - a dark red sparkle. Slightly darker than Carrie Ann.

Cheryl - brown sparkle. This one has a little green in it, can barely tell, but you'll know when you remove the polish.

Julieann - a dark purple shimmer. Picture shows more blue than purple, but we all know how hard it is to capture purples -_-

Edyta - smokey green gray sparkle. Love this one! Such a gorgeous color.

Zoya Wonderful Collection consists of 6 gorgeous cremes

Shawn - an army green creme. I said army because this reminds me of the greens in camouflages.

Cola - a brown red creme. Cola because its a little like coca cola? I don't know but it's definitely brown red.

Kristi - a true red creme. Very bright and vibrant, very sexy!

Burke - a soft mauvey red creme. I can't really describe this color. It definitely reminds me of some type of berry but I can't get my tongue on it. But it's still a nice color.

Stacy - a raspberry red creme.

Kelly - dark gray creme with purple tones. My favorite of the wonderful collection!

All of them were under two coats. Their formula, of course, is absolutely flawless. I love Zoya nail polishes because of their formula and for their forever supply of polishes. There's no need to worry about a polish being discontinued. Zoya you rock!

I love both of the collections. Colors are nice and they match my skin tone! I'm waiting for the day where Zoya have a nail polish named Gladys :D

Well that is all I have for today gotta go back to school work :(

Friendly Reminder: About 8 days left to enter my ManGlaze 600th follower giveaway. Have you entered yet? If not, click on the link on my left sidebar to enter! Don't miss out this opportunity to own some awesome ManGlaze polishes!

Date Pic! Plus Another China Glaze Konadicure

Hi all!

Yesterday was my pie eating date with Michèle and Michelle, although we didn't really eat pie.. We did eat sushi though! Anyway we went shopping and even with the rainy weather, I had a lovely day, so thanks ladies!

Of course, I snapped a pic of our hands together :D

Michèle is wearing Catrice Lost in Mud, Michelle is wearing Orly Rage and I am wearing China Glaze Recycle, stamped with China Glaze Millennium.

Here's a closer pic from my mani on day two of wear:

China Glaze Recycle Millennium Konad Konadicure imageplate M73 stamping nailartChina Glaze Recycle, stamped with imageplate M73 and China Glaze Millennium. China Glaze Recycle is three coats, though 2 could have been sufficient for opacity if I didn't have so much trouble with the formula. It went on like crap, I couldn't handle it.. Recycle is a grey creme and I honestly can't see what all the fuss is about; it's a pretty color but the application was a big turnoff for me. I like this combination with Konad though!

Ladies, I had a wonderful day and I hope you did too! Enjoy your new pretties ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Models Own Gun Grey

Hi all!

A relatively short post today! I still have to swatch a few of my Models Own polishes, so here's another one for you :)

Models Own Gun GreyModels Own Gun Grey, two coats in daylight. The name really says it all; it's a gun grey polish. In my eyes, it truly looks like a gun grey polish since it has the perfect color for it and the finish is somewhere between metallic and frost. Only two coats for opacity, but one would have been sufficient if I used a thicker coat.

Models Own polishes are not B3F (toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate free) so this polish smells a bit, but application is fine and drying time was perfect. Models Own polishes can be bought at www.modelsownit.com and they do ship internationally, but please keep in mind they have a GBP 30 minimum for purchase.

Kitty Ate All The Fish

Hi all!

So today I have a konadicure for you! Well it's not really Konad, but it's stamping alright :) I only have half of my Bundle Monster plates, but these are already a lot of fun.

OPI Princesses Rule! Konad China Glaze Awaken Konad Special Polish black pearl Bundle Monster imageplate BM04OPI Princesses Rule! Konad China Glaze Awaken Konad Special Polish black pearl Bundle Monster imageplate BM04Kitty Ate All The Fish! I used OPI Princesses Rule! as a basecolor (two coats) and stamped it with Konad Special polish in Black Pearl and China Glaze Awaken. I used Bundle Monster imageplate BM04 for the images. I really like how this one turned out! What do you think?

Fuggen Ugly Hot Mess!

Hi all!

A very quick post today with just my NOTD of today. I will do a full review with more (and decent) pics somewhere later this week.

Michèle from Lacquerized was so sweet to order some ManGlazes for me a while ago. Unfortunately, my bottle of Fuggen Ugly would not open! I tried everything, but the bottle was fuggen stuck. I told Marc from ManGlaze and he offered to send me a new bottle ♥!! Talking about great CS :D Anyway, I got my new bottle in yesterday and it opened! So I thought I might as well put it on.

ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly two coats on every nail (with a thin coat of Nubar Diamont) and two coats of Hot Mess on my ringfinger. Ain't that sweet? I'm really diggin' the combination!

That's all for today dear reader, I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday :)

Playdate Pics! And OPI Over The Taupe

Hi all!

If you're following me on Twitter, you probably know that it was playdate time yesterday! I met up with Michèle from Lacquerized, Karin from Romika's Nails, Michelle from The Lacquer Files and Natasja. We all brought a ton of polishes (though this wasn't nearly everything we own!) and were dazed with the amount of polish on the table. This is what a playdate with five lacquer ladies looks like:

And from a different angle:

Michèle and Karin actually had their polishes in their Helmers, so they are not even all visible in these pics! Woah! Can you imagine us just staring at all the bottles, not knowing which polish to pick?

We all picked a polish to paint our nails with and since this is my nail blog, what would this post be without a pic of our hands and nails?

Clockwise, starting from the top: Michèle - wearing purple H&M Hello Kitty with Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis, Karin - wearing Milani Hi-Tech, Michelle - wearing Hard Candy Mr Wrong with Hard Candy Breakup on top, Natasja - wearing Orly Cashmere Cardigan and me - wearing OPI Over the Taupe.

I'm wearing OPI Over the Taupe as a NOTD (which I borrowed from Michelle - thanks dearie!! <3 ), but I spiced it up a little with some flowery stickers. I actually have some weird kind of bubbeling in my polish, not regular bubbles but very teeny tiny wobbly parts that look like they lay under the polish. Michèle told me she has the same thing. I have no clue what caused this bubbeling.. Anyway, here are some pics of today's manicure!

OPI Over the Taupe, three coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont and flowery stickers. Over the Taupe is a gorgeous taupe creme. I really like this color! I took advantage of all the bottles on the table and it's no dupe of Eyeko's Taupe Polish, Catrice Lost in Mud or Catrice From Dusk To Dawn. Application was good. The polish was a little watery at first, but it all went well in the end.

A little closeup of my ring finger:

It's just the accent to make the color pop! I really like these stickers. I got them as a freebie with an order at Veelnagels/Veelsieraden, a Dutch etailer.

Dear Michèle, Karin, Michelle and Natasja; I had a great time yesterday and I hope you did too! I'm looking forward to the next playdate (Michèle, hurry up with your date picker! ;) )

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya Loredana; Swatches & Comparison

Hi all!

So, today I have quite a lengthy post for you. I decided to do a matte mani and while I was at it, I did a 'complete' post; Swatching both matte and shiny plus a comparison. Lots to cover, so on to the pics!

Zoya Loredana, two coats in natural light. Loredana is a medium grey, charcoal colored polish. This one isn't shiny, a true matte! I love how this looks. Because she is so pretty, another picture:

Application on Loredana was super easy. The polish structure was just right; not too thick or too thin. A couple of my mattes/suedes tend to be a bit gloopy, but this one certainly wasn't. I didn't have problems whatsoever and since the polish dried so quickly, it's an A+ polish for me!

There isn't any matte that I wouldn't try to make shiny, so Loredana is no exception:

Zoya Loredana, two coats with one coat of Seche Vite in natural light. Pretty huh? She really shows her shimmer when you make her shiny. It looks so pretty! I can't decide if I like her better matte or shiny.. What do you think?

Judging on the color, I thought she might be close to OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees Suede, so I grabbed my bottle and did a comparison.

Index and ring are Zoya Loredana, middle and pinkie are OPI Suzi Skis In The Pyrenees Suede.

Loredana is two coats, while SSITP is three coats. Opacity is better with Loredana. On the nail they are closer colorwise, but my camera shows a huge difference. These are no dupes, but similar. SSITP is a darker grey with more shimmer than Loredana. Loredana looks a bit flat besides SSITP because she is a true matte.

A shiny comparison:

Again, Zoya Loredana on index and ring, SSITP on middle and pinkie. Both are topped with a coat of Seche Vite. You can clearly see now that SSITP looks deeper because she holds more shimmer.

I really like both of these! It depends on my mood which one I will wear, but I know for a fact that both will be a part of my go-to polishes when I'm in a hurry. If you can't decide which one you like best of these two, I'd say the Zoya is 'better', but only because she is opaque in two coats, while OPI needed three to be opaque.

I hope this was helpful :)

Catrice London's Weather Forecast

Hi all!

Hope your enjoying your weekend! In The Netherlands, the weather is finally playing along so we went for a long walk. Anyway, today I have one of the new Catrice polishes for you. Catrice just came with a whole new collection that contains about 32 (!!!!) new colors. This is one of them!

London's Weather Forecast, three coats with one coat of SV. LWF is a medium grey polish with blue undertones and silverish shimmer. I like this color a lot, but hey, I like most greys ;)

Application was okay, although I added about 10 drops of thinner before I started polishing. The polish itself was a bit goopy, so the thinner was really needed. The brush is just about the perfect size for me, not too wide or too thin. I did had a tiny amount of bubbling, which is why I used a coat of SV. LWF is shiny enough to go without a topcoat though!

That's it for today, dear reader! I wish you all a wonderful sunday :)

Revvvolution Shows Its Holoness!

Hi all!

Eerder heb ik al foto's van Color Club Revvvolution gepost, maar daarop was de holo in de lak niet echt goed te zien. Een tijdje geleden heb ik Revvvolution als full mani gedragen en gelukkig scheen de zon toen!

I posted pics of Color Club Revvvolution earlier, but the pics didn't show the holo in the polish too well. A little while ago, I wore Revvvolution for a full mani and luckily, the sun came out!

Color Club Revvvolution, I believe this was three coats. It shows more holo irl, but that was really hard to capture. In the last picture, there was no direct sunlight hitting the nail.

I already commented on the formula in my other post, so this is it for now :)

Orly Pixie Dust

Hi all!

How are you all today? The week is in half! I'm having a major headache so I'll do this post in English only, sorry. This polish is one of my favorites and I think she will be for a long while. She is pretty, beautiful and fascinating to look at. Well, on to the pictures!

Orly Pixie Dust, three coats in daylight. One word: gorgeous! I love love love this polish. It's a grey polish with blue tones, or blue toned grey if you prefer. The polish holds teenie tiny glitters that make it look like you're looking at broken glass at concrete or something. It's really fascinating to look at.

Orly Pixie Dust, three coats with indirect lighting. It's so pretty!

It takes three coats to gain opacity, but she's worth all three coats (I would have done more if she needed it). Application was fine. The polish itself is a bit watery but nothing unmanagable. Dryingtime was fine was well, though I let the polish dry a bit between coats - just a couple of minutes.

What do you think of this gorgeous grey?

Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede

Hi all!

The weekend is almost over! Just a couple of hours left.. What did you do? I was on a birthday yesterday and the one year old nephew of my boyfriend tried to scratch off my nailpolish with his teenie tiny nails for about 15 minutes when he sat on my lap lol! I'm wearing OPI You Don't Know Jacques Suede with a coat of Diamont and I think it was a little too obvious that I was wearing polish ;). It was very cute though!

OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede, twee laagjes in indirect zonlicht.

OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees Suede, two coats in indirect sunlight. Suzi is a gorgeous dark or gungrey shimmer. Like the other suedes, the shimmer is incredible! Application and drying time are, just as with the other suede polishes, good. I love gungreys and this is no exeption. She is not a dupe of Iron Butterfly, which is a bit darker and leans more to black.

Suzi met een laagje Diamont, wederom in indirect zonlicht. Klik op de foto voor een vergroting. De shimmer is prachtig!

Suzi with one coat of Diamont, again in indirect sunlight. Click on the picture to enlarge. The shimmer in this polish is gorgeous!

This is it for today. I wish you all a wonderful working or studying week!

Essie Sag Harbor

Hi all!

Is everyone enjoying their weekend? I know I am, so I have a relatively short post for you, though I have more than one picture to show this pretty :)

Essie Sag Harbor, three coats in daylight. Oh my! Sag Harbor is a grey polish with blue undertones and hidden shimmer. It looks a little more blue irl. It took me quite a while to get my hands on this pretty, but I finally managed to get it off eBay. Sag Harbor is a part of the Essie Nortfork Collection of fall 2009 and this was a Limited Edition. I'm still trying to get my hands on Greenport, no luck yet with this one.. Anyway, Sag Harbor is truly gorgeous. I love this polish and when I'm can, I will certainly buy myself a backup bottle. Application was a bit streaky with the first coat, but this evened out while I applied the second coat. I'm merely doing three coats because of habit, because I don't think she need three coats to gain opacity (two is fine). I love this polish so much that I couldn't bare to put Konad on her!
